Purpose: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a condition of high prevalence worldwide associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The predictive value of novel indices of combined anthropometric and serum lipid parameters as predictors of MetS is, to our knowledge, unexplored. We aimed to assess the 10-year predictive value of three indices of triglyceride-glucose index (TyG), visceral adiposity index (VAI), and lipid accumulation product (LAP) for incidence of MetS in Southeastern Iran.

This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of CSF markers for diagnosis of post-neurosurgical meningitis (PNM).
Methods: Patients with neurosurgical procedures whose CSF was obtained for any reason (meningitis and non-meningitis) during 2020 and 2022, at Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex, Tehran, Iran, were included.
Background: Coronary artery diseases (CADs) are the most important non‑communicable diseases (NCDs), which cause the highest number of deaths around the world. Hypertension (HTN), dyslipidemia (DL), diabetes mellitus (DM), obesity (OB), low physical activity (LPA), smoking, opium consumption (OC) and anxiety are the most important CAD risk factors, which are more dangerously present in combination in some patients.
Methods: A total of 5835 people aged 15 to 75 years were enrolled in the phase 1 (2012) and followed up to the phase 2 (2017) of the population-based Kerman coronary artery diseases risk factors study (KERCADRS).
Background: Data are limited on the relationship between cardiovascular disease (CVD) and the combinational indices of lipid accumulation product (LAP), triglyceride-glucose index (TyG), and visceral adiposity index (VAI). The association of these novel indices with the 5- and 10-year incidence of CVD was assessed.
Method: A total of 1888 and 1450 healthy adults aged between 15 and 75 years (out of the 5895 participants of the KERCADR study, 2012) were followed for five and ten years, respectively.
Sleep disorders are associated with many health problems including anxiety, depression and coronary artery disease (CAD). This study investigated the prevalence, predictors and health impacts of insomnia and hypersomnia in southeastern Iran as well as the five-year incidence rate (IR) of these sleep disorders. The present study was a cross-sectional, single-stage, cluster sampling study examining nine CAD risk factors (KERCADR study phase two), including sleep disorders, carried out in Kerman on 9997 participants, 15 to 80 years old.
