Unlabelled: Accurate prediction of moisture distributions in wood is among the most critical challenges in timber engineering. Achieving this requires a well-coordinated comparison of experimental methods and simulation tools. While significant progress has been made in developing simulation tools in recent years, a lack of experience with and trust in these tools continues to hinder broader implementation, especially when it comes to free water and its absorption.

Background: Cardiac amyloidosis (CA) is an underappreciated cause of morbidity and mortality. Light-chain (AL) and transthyretin (ATTR) amyloidosis have different disease trajectories. No data are available on subtype-specific modes of death (MOD) in patients with CA.

Ascites relative enhancement during hepatobiliary phase after Gd-BOPTA administration: a new promising tool for characterising abdominal free fluid of unknown origin.

Objectives: To correlate the degree of ascites enhancement during hepatobiliary phase after gadobenate dimeglumine (Gd-BOPTA) administration with ascites aetiology.

Methods: IRB-approved retrospective study, need for informed consent was waived. We included 74 consecutive ascitic patients who underwent Gd-BOPTA-enhanced liver MRI including hepatobiliary phase (HBP) images between January 2014 and December 2017.

Lateral resolution of nanoscaled images delivered by surface-analytical instruments: application of the BAM-L200 certified reference material and related ISO standards.

The certified reference material BAM-L200, a nanoscale stripe pattern for length calibration and specification of lateral resolution, is described. BAM-L200 is prepared from a cross-sectioned epitaxially grown layer stack of AlxGa1-xAs and InxGa1-xAs on a GaAs substrate. The surface of BAM-L200 provides a flat pattern with stripe widths ranging down to 1 nm.
