Background: Drought is one of main critical factors that limits sugarcane productivity and juice quality in tropical regions. The unprecedented changes in climate such as monsoon failure, increase in temperature and other factors warrant the need for development of stress tolerant cultivars to sustain sugar production. Plant Nuclear factor (NF-Y) is one of the major classes of transcription factors that have a major role in plant development and abiotic stress response.

Most of the released high-yielding hybrids of have a low 1000-seed weight (TSW) with no increment in the percent oil content (OC), and, therefore, these hybrids have poor acceptance among the farmers in India. It is, thus, imperative to understand the genetic basis of these traits and deploy them in commercial hybrid breeding programs. The present study utilized a set of 15 diverse genotypes with TSW and OC ranging from 1.

Article Synopsis
  • - The research utilized machine learning techniques on a 34-year meteorological time series for estimating wheat yield in five Punjab districts, applying models like stepwise multi-linear regression, artificial neural network, and random forest.
  • - Wheat yield at different crop growth stages was estimated using weather data, with models trained and validated in R software showing strong performance metrics like MAPE and nRMSE below 6%.
  • - Among the models tested, random forest outperformed others (SVR and DNN) for yield estimation accuracy, particularly in the Faridkot, Ferozpur, and Gurdaspur districts.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focuses on detecting multijet signatures from proton-proton collisions at a high energy of 13 TeV, analyzing a dataset totaling 128 fb^{-1}.
  • A special data scouting method is utilized to pick out events with low combined momentum in jets.
  • This research is pioneering in its investigation of electroweak particle production in R-parity violating supersymmetric models, particularly examining hadronically decaying mass-degenerate higgsinos, and it broadens the limits on the existence of R-parity violating top squarks and gluinos.

The first search for soft unclustered energy patterns (SUEPs) is performed using an integrated luminosity of 138  fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13  TeV, collected in 2016-2018 by the CMS detector at the LHC. Such SUEPs are predicted by hidden valley models with a new, confining force with a large 't Hooft coupling. In events with boosted topologies, selected by high-threshold hadronic triggers, the multiplicity and sphericity of clustered tracks are used to reject the background from standard model quantum chromodynamics.
