 Perifascial areolar tissue (PAT) transplant is a technique in which a sheet of connective tissue on the fascia is harvested and transplanted to the wound bed. PAT engraftment fails when the exposed area of tendons, bones, or artificial materials is large. On the other hand, combination of tissue transplant and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) improves the survival rate of the transplanted tissue.

We present a case of arterial bypass for extensive stenosis of the ulnar artery and superficial palmar arch. The ulnar artery and the superficial palmar arch were bypassed using the great saphenous vein. Postoperatively, blood flow to the affected fingers gradually improved and the pain disappeared.

Plate fixation to zygomatic arch fractures carries the risk of facial nerve palsy and scarring of the cheek; however, without plate fixation, bone deviation or displacement may reoccur after surgery. Furthermore, zygomatic arch fractures combined with zygomatic body fractures are more postoperatively unstable than single zygomatic arch fractures. Few reports have focused on this combined fracture type, and no consensus has been reached regarding treatment.

The basket-weave method is an orbicularis oris muscle reconstruction method used in primary unilateral cleft lip repair. We compared the long-term results of the basket-weave method with those of a conventional method. For primary unilateral cleft lip repair, we compared the long-term results of 7 cases in which the orbicularis oris muscle was reconstructed by use of the basket-weave method, and of 7 cases in which the reconstruction was performed by use of the conventional method.
