Background: Minimally invasive bariatric surgeries provide effective weight loss with fewer complications. However, postoperative bleeding remains a significant concern due to its potential for serious morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to identify factors predicting postoperative bleeding following laparoscopic and robotic sleeve gastrectomy (SG) and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB).

Urban air quality affects the apple microbiome assembly.

Exposure to air pollution affects health of all organisms on earth but the impact on the plant microbiome is less understood. Here, we link the Air Quality Index with the dust and apple epiphytic and endophytic microbiome across the city of Graz (Austria). The microbiome of the apple episphere, peel endosphere and pulp endosphere, and surrounding dust was analyzed.

Mavacamten in real-life practice: Initial experience at a hypertrophic cardiomyopathy centre.

Aims: In clinical trials, mavacamten reduced left ventricular outflow tract obstruction (LVOTO) and improved symptoms in patients with symptomatic obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM).
