«Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing» is a method for trauma treatment, initially developed for adults, but raising more and more awareness amongst child professionals. The way this therapy can be applied with children and adolescents varies from adult populations, because a child is constantly developing and in relation with his/her parents. The level of evidence also differs, literature offering less studies in this domain.

Environmental factors, such as climate change in the course of the Middle Ages, did not have statistically significant effect on body proportions in these samples. The results show a relationship between bio-cultural factors and physique in the analysed populations that indicate stunted growth in height and weight in a leprosarium population with a low socio-economic and health status.

The paper describes the case of a person (GB) without any clinical evidence of cerebral disease who showed a specific impairment in the retrieval of biographical information, including names, about famous people. This deficit appeared while GB scored normally in different long-term memory tasks, and in object naming tasks. Moreover, he showed no impairment in the structural encoding and the recognition of faces.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe oxygen dependence of ethane formation was investigated in rat lung and liver homogenates, incubated in sealed flasks, in which the peroxidation was stimulated by the addition of ferrous ions. For both tissues, the production of ethane was maximal under a 20% oxygenated gas phase, while hyperoxic conditions led to a decreased ethane in the gas phase. The formation of thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBA-RS), another marker of the lipid peroxidation process, in the homogenates of lung and liver was strongly stimulated at 100% compared to 20% oxygen.
