Cigarette smoking negatively impacts mesenchymal stem cell functionality, including proliferation, viability, and differentiation potential. Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCs) are increasingly used for therapeutic purposes, but the specific effects of smoking in vivo on these cells are poorly understood.
