Among the spectrum of gliomas, glioblastoma stands out as the most aggressive brain tumor affecting the central nervous system. In addressing this urgent medical challenge, exploring therapeutic alternatives becomes imperative to enhance the patient's prognosis. In this regard, Butia odorata (BO) fruit emerges as a promising candidate due to its array of bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, phenolic acids, and carotenoids, known for their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antitumor properties.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcute myeloid leukemia (AML) with FLT3-ITD mutation represents a quarter of AML patients and is associated with high relapse rate and dismal prognosis. FLT3 tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) were developed in order to target this genetic alteration and among these TKIs, AC220 (quizartinib) combined with chemotherapy has already shown an increased overall survival for patients with AML with FLT3-ITD mutation. Even though this increase in overall survival was significant, it remains discrete, and relapse rate is still high, so there is an unmet medical need.

This review aims to present current evidence on the use of miRNA as biomarkers for the non-invasive diagnosis of bladder cancer.
Methods: A systematic literature review, using the Medline database, was performed in July 2022 according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines.
As SARS-CoV-2 continues to evolve and herd immunity establishes, an increasing number of asymptomatic infections have been reported, increasing the risk of airborne spread of the virus. Most of the studies regarding SARS-CoV-2 RNA presence in air refer to indoor environments, with few studies having reported SARS-CoV-2 RNA in outdoor air. The aim of this study was to assess the presence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA at two different settings, crowded outdoor versus empty outdoor environments in Valladolid, Spain, during winter 2021.

Objective: Cleft lip and palate are the most common congenital malformations in the craniofacial region, occurring at a rate of 1:700 births in Brazil. These conditions lead to functional impacts on patients, such as changes in breathing, teeth, speech, chewing, swallowing and sucking. Treatment begins with primary surgeries, including lip and palate repair, which aim to reconstruct the soft tissues.
