Background: Young people from racialised backgrounds are overrepresented in justice services. This study explored differences in community support offered to young people from racialised groups referred to a forensic child and adolescent mental health service.

Method: We compared support offered to 427 young people, according to five ethnic groups.

Management of Anxiety for Ambulatory Hallux Valgus Surgery With a Virtual Reality Hypnosis Mask: Randomized Controlled Trial.

Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of using virtual reality masks for the management of preoperative anxiety and its impact on postoperative and predischarge anxiety as well as postoperative analgesia during outpatient hallux valgus surgery.

Methods: From June 2020 to September 2021, preoperative anxiety of patients scheduled for a percutaneous hallux valgus surgery were analyzed using the State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) questionnaire completed during the consultation. All patients with major anxiety, defined as a STAI score above 40, were included in a randomized prospective comparative single-center study.

Next-generation seismic model of the Australian crust from synchronous and asynchronous ambient noise imaging.

The proliferation of seismic networks in Australia has laid the groundwork for high-resolution probing of the continental crust. Here we develop an updated 3D shear-velocity model using a large dataset containing nearly 30 years of seismic recordings from over 1600 stations. A recently-developed ambient noise imaging workflow enables improved data analysis by integrating asynchronous arrays across the continent.

Pain catastrophizing and pre-operative psychological state are predictive of chronic pain after joint arthroplasty of the hip, knee or shoulder: results of a prospective, comparative study at one year follow-up.

Purpose: To assess the relationship between pre-operative psychological state, postoperative pain and function one year after total shoulder, hip or knee arthroplasty.

Methods: Patients undergoing shoulder, hip or knee arthroplasty between March 2014 and November 2015 were included. Pain catastrophizing score (PCS) was determined preoperatively, at six months and at one year follow-up.
