High-energy nuclear collisions create a quark-gluon plasma, whose initial condition and subsequent expansion vary from event to event, impacting the distribution of the eventwise average transverse momentum [P([p_{T}])]. Disentangling the contributions from fluctuations in the nuclear overlap size (geometrical component) and other sources at a fixed size (intrinsic component) remains a challenge. This problem is addressed by measuring the mean, variance, and skewness of P([p_{T}]) in ^{208}Pb+^{208}Pb and ^{129}Xe+^{129}Xe collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.

The present study describes the surgical process and establishes a consensus for improving the care circuit for outpatient PP implantation in Spain. A working group composed of a scientific committee with extensive experience in PP implantation and representatives of important scientific societies reached a consensus about the recommendations for outpatient PP implantation.

The induction of cell death and cell cycle arrest by Sorafenib has been associated with mitochondrial dysfunction in liver cancer cells. Our research aim was to decipher underlying oxidative and nitrosative stress induced by Sorafenib leading to mitochondrial dysfunction in liver cancer cells.

We investigated whether the accumulation of MPs in the gills of fish inhabiting these fragile ecosystems alters osmoregulation and, consequently, their ability to tolerate fluctuating salinity. The effects of a 15-day exposure to an environmentally relevant concentration (20 μg/L) of spherical polystyrene microplastics (PS-MPs) with a diameter of 5 μm were assessed in the Mediterranean killifish Aphanius fasciatus, focusing on tissue and gene expression changes related to factors of paracellular and transcellular permeability of the gill epithelium during the transition from seawater to freshwater.
