In the current environment whereby new sources of proteins are extracted from plant material, it is also important to study the potential use of the resulting side streams. Although a number of studies have been conducted on various polysaccharides extracted from plant raw material, a polysaccharide fraction extracted from lupin bean is yet to be explored, in spite of the emerging interest in this crop as a source of food ingredients. In this work lupin soluble polysaccharide (LuPS) was obtained with a recovery as high as 46 % by extraction at pH 8, 120 °C, for 90 min.

Previously, novel androgen receptor axis-targeted agents (ARATs) were approved for metastatic castration-naïve and non-metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC); both of which are pivotal for investigating the association between the bone microenvironment and tumors. Solubility of soy lipophilic proteins (LP) was studied as compared with that of other soy protein fractions. LP, β-conglycinin, glycinin, and soy protein isolate (N-SPI) were prepared under the condition to avoid heat denaturation. Solubility of LP was lower than that of other soy protein fractions under all the tested conditions varying in pH values and ionic strength.

Three of them were identified as major allergens and designated as Gly m Bd 60K, Gly m Bd 30K, and Gly m Bd 28K, respectively. Gly m Bd 60K is an alpha subunit of beta-conglycinin well known as a major soybean storage protein.
