An 85-year-old man was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and was initially treated with transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) and sorafenib. He was then switched to nivolumab and ipilimumab in view of sorafenib intolerance and disease progression. Subsequently, he developed dysphagia and generalized dyspnea culminating in hypercapnic respiratory failure requiring intubation.

In this work, we explore the possibility that selective small molecule inhibitors of this enzyme family could provide a novel approach to alleviate the inflammation that is associated with many inflammatory diseases. A series of novel substituted 4-hydrazinoquinazoline derivatives and fused triazoloquinazolines were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their PDE7A inhibition activities, in comparison with Theophylline, a non-selective PDE inhibitor, and BRL50481, a selective PDE7A inhibitor.

Microplastics (MPs) were determined in composts produced from urban greenery. They are present in decreasing order: polyethylene terephthalate, polystyrene, polyethylene, and polypropylene.

This study investigates the vertical distribution of pollutants emitted from coal yards using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Vertical concentration measurements of black carbon (BC) and particulate matter (PM) in a range of 1 m to 100 m above ground level (AGL) in the central coal yard showed clear spatial patterns and gradients of these pollutants. In addition, measurements were taken at specific heights (1 m, 30 m AGL, and 60 m AGL) at seven locations approximately 3 km from the yard.

Here, we report the management of a case of complete airway obstruction secondary to an acute neck haematoma arising after radical neck dissection, partial glossectomy and a free flap reconstruction. The patient deteriorated precipitously and required immediate emergency surgical front of neck access to secure the airway.
