[Electrical vestibular stimulation as a tool for treatment of bilateral vestibular loss. Literature review].

The review of the literature on RSCI and PubMed databases presents methods of electrical vestibular stimulation to improve vestibular function in patients with bilateral vestibulopathy. The variants of stimulation of peripheral vestibular structures, such as vestibular implantation, noise galvanic vestibular stimulation are described. The perspectives of development of this direction, advantages of application of electrical stimulation in the future, as well as current limitations that do not currently allow to use these methods in clinical practice are shown.

Compliant Lattice Modulations Enable Anomalous Elasticity in Ni-Mn-Ga Martensite.

High mobility of twin boundaries in modulated martensites of Ni-Mn-Ga-based ferromagnetic shape memory alloys holds a promise for unique magnetomechanical applications. This feature has not been fully understood so far, and in particular, it has yet not been unveiled what makes the lattice mechanics of modulated Ni-Mn-Ga specifically different from other martensitic alloys. Here, results of dedicated laser-ultrasonic measurements on hierarchically twinned five-layer modulated (10M) crystals fill this gap.

Engineering functional 3-dimensional patient-derived endocrine organoids for broad multiplatform applications.

Background: Recent advancements in 3-dimensional patient-derived organoid models have revolutionized the field of cancer biology. There is an urgent need for development of endocrine tumor organoid models for medullary thyroid carcinoma, adrenocortical carcinoma, papillary thyroid carcinoma, and a spectrum of benign hyperfunctioning parathyroid and adrenal neoplasms. We aimed to engineer functionally intact 3-dimensional endocrine patient-derived organoids to expand the in vitro and translational applications for the advancement of endocrine research.

[Pregnancy in paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria: from survival to life].

Background: Pregnancy in paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) patients has historically been a high-risk situation. The combination of chronic complement-mediated hemolysis caused by the disease and physiological activation of the complement system during pregnancy, significantly worsened the prognosis for the life. For a long time, there were no effective methods for the PNH treatment, and pregnancy in patients seemed to be extremely risky, as it significantly increased the risk of life-threatening complications.
