Smads and their transcription factor partners mediate the transcriptional responses of target cells to secreted ligands of the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) family, including those of the conserved bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) family, yet only a small number of direct target genes have been well characterized. In the BMP2/4 ortholog DBL-1 regulates multiple biological functions, including body size, via a canonical receptor-Smad signaling cascade. Here, we identify functional binding sites for SMA-3/Smad and its transcriptional partner SMA-9/Schnurri based on ChIP-seq peaks (identified by modEncode) and expression differences of nearby genes identified from RNA-seq analysis of corresponding mutants.

Selective detection of Fe via fluorescent in real sample using aminoanthraquinone resorcin[4]arene-based receptors with logic gate application.

Resorcin[4]arene based fluorescent sensors RES-AAQ containing eight anthraquinone groups as binding sites, were developed for very accurate and sensitive detection of Fe metal ion. The motivation for this study lies in the need for advanced sensing techniques for precisely identifying Fe ions. Due to its unique redox properties, Fe plays a crucial role in biological processes, environmental remediation, medical diagnostics, and advanced detection methods.

Gemcitabine Cisplatin and Durvalumab Experience in Advanced Biliary Tract Cancers: A Real-World, Multicentric Data From India.

Purpose: Biliary tract cancers (BTCs) are usually diagnosed in advanced stages, where treatment options are either palliative chemotherapy and/or best supportive care. The breakthrough results of the TOPAZ-1 trial demonstrated a 24% decrease in risk of death at 2 years with the addition of durvalumab to chemotherapy.

Materials And Methods: This was a multicenter retrospective cohort study conducted across 14 institutions in India.

Background: Immune check point inhibitors (ICIs) have an established role in Microsatellite-Instability-High (MSI-H) and Combined Positive Score (CPS) high advanced gastric/gastroesophageal (G/GE) adenocarcinomas, but there is limited real world data with regard to practice patterns, and efficacy of standard doses (SD-ICIs) and alternative lower doses (LD-ICIs).

Methods: A retrospective study of patients with advanced G/GE adenocarcinomas receiving ICIs was conducted. The primary endpoint of the study was 12-month overall survival (OS), which was computed by Kaplan-Meier method.
