Objectives: The impact of mild autonomous cortisol secretion (MACS) on cognition is incompletely characterized. We aimed to assess cognition in patients with MACS, identify factors associated with lower cognition, and determine the impact of adrenalectomy on cognition.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study (4/2019 to 10/2022) and a longitudinal cohort study (10/2021 to 9/2023) of adults with MACS and referent subjects.

Context: Diagnosing adrenal insufficiency (AI) often requires complex testing which can be time consuming and expensive. Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS) is a promising marker of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis function, however its diagnostic performance has not yet been evaluated in a large-scale study.

Objective: Evaluate the performance of DHEAS and baseline cortisol in assessing AI.

Obstetric difficult airway management has emerged as a critical safety issue, and unsuccessful intubation can lead to morbidity and mortality. A literature review of difficult and failed obstetric intubations from the 1970s to 2015 shows that the incidence of failed intubation is unchanged, remaining at one per 390 anesthetics. Our obstetric case report highlights an obstetric difficult airway secondary to limited mouth opening; rescue of the airway with an i-gel®; and establishment of a definitive airway with the aid of an Aintree intubation catheter and flexible fiberoptic scope-guided intubation through the i-gel®, a second-generation supraglottic airway.

Histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) inhibition is associated with an increased pro-inflammatory tumor microenvironment and antitumoral immune responses. Here, we show that the HDAC6 inhibitor AVS100 (SS208) had an antitumoral effect in SM1 melanoma and CT26 colon cancer models and increased the efficacy of anti-programmed cell death protein 1 treatment, leading to complete remission in melanoma and increased response in colon cancer. AVS100 treatment increased pro-inflammatory tumor-infiltrating macrophages and CD8 effector T cells with an inflammatory and T cell effector gene signature.

In recent findings, a new classification of 1D and 2D tetrahexagonal boron nitrides (-BN) consisting of square and hexagonal rings has been documented. These materials exhibit impressive properties such as the tunable band gap, strong optical absorption, suitable sign-tunable Poisson's ratio, and high ideal strength, making them promising for applications in nano- and opto-electronic industries. Stimulated by these studies, we have designed a cage-based three-dimensional tetrahexagonal boron nitride (3D -BN) structure, which demonstrates excellent thermal, dynamic, and mechanical stability, including exceptional cohesive and formation energies of 6.
