Association between chronic health conditions and severe acute respiratory syndrome in pregnant women: an exploratory study.

Objective: To analyze the association between chronic health conditions and severe acute respiratory syndrome in pregnant women.
Method: Retrospective, exploratory study conducted with 1,152 pregnant women from all 27 states of Brazil who sought hospital treatment and were diagnosed with severe acute respiratory syndrome between 2020 and 2022. Public data from the Influenza Epidemiological Surveillance Information System (SIVEP-Gripe) of the Brazilian Ministry of Health were used.
Background: Leadership is recognized as an essential competency in health care and science, being central for professionals to face health challenges. Few physicians feel prepared to serve as leaders in the health care environment, and few receive training in the leadership skills needed to be successful. Teaching leadership skills together with extensive, longitudinal, clinical education in an authentic and nurturing environment can effectively develop students for leadership in medicine.

Methods: this is explanatory sequential mixed method research. In the quantitative phase, the data were obtained from the Notifiable Diseases Information System from 2010 to 2019, with georeferencing being carried out to identify areas vulnerable to tuberculosis.
In recent decades, the use of pesticides in agriculture has increased dramatically. This has resulted in these substances being widely dispersed in the environment, contaminating both exposed workers and communities living near agricultural areas and via contaminated foodstuffs. In addition to acute poisoning, chronic exposure to pesticides can lead to molecular changes that are becoming better understood.
