Introduction: Family planning (FP) is important in reducing maternal morbidity and mortality as well as foetal and neonatal complications. This study aimed to determine the intention to practise FP among antenatal women at risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in the Klang Health District and its associated factors.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at four government health clinics in the Klang Health District.
Introduction: Prevalence of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection among the non-indigenous people in Malaysia has been well established and range between 3% and 5%. Method: A retrospective study was conducted by analysing clinical details, blood cultures and antimicrobial susceptibility testing results in children between the ages of 0 to 13 years old, who were admitted to selayang Hospital over an 11-year period from 2001 until 2011.
A prospective study was conducted on 510 respiratory specimens for the presence of M. tuberculosis detected by direct acid-fast bacilli (AFB) smear examination, culture in the Manual Mycobacteria Growth Indicator Tube (BBL MGIT, Becton-Dickinson) and culture on Lowenstein-Jensen (LJ) medium. From positive BBL MGIT tubes, Ziehl-Neelsen and Gram stains were performed and subcultures were put up on LJ medium.
