Diabetic Ketoacidosis in Pregnancy: A Systematic Review of the Reported Cases.

Background: Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a rare but serious complication that can develop during pregnancy, with up to 30% of patients presenting with euglycemia, making prompt recognition challenging. It is associated with increased perinatal mortality rates, although the exact risk of maternal mortality remains unclear. The purpose of this systematic review was to examine the available literature and provide an overview of reported cases of DKA during pregnancy.

Phenytoin toxicity caused by a drug-to-drug interaction between phenytoin and antitubercular therapy.

Phenytoin is one of the most used antiepileptic drugs. Isoniazid, a first-line antitubercular drug, blocks the CYP2C19 enzyme, preventing phenytoin from being metabolised. Concomitant use of phenytoin and isoniazid predisposes to phenytoin toxicity.

Eco-friendly polymers such as chitosan (CH), gelatin (GE), and cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) are leading viable alternatives to plastics traditionally used in packaging because of their higher functionality and biodegradability. In this study, an innovative approach has been disclosed to prepare new packaging materials by utilizing chitosan, gelatin, and cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) through a simple solution casting method.

Purpose Of Review: Multiple myeloma is a chronic malignancy and with evolving treatment options, understanding the economic burden and cost-effectiveness of therapies is crucial for clinicians and researchers.

Recent Findings: In this, we review the recent approval of Bispecific antibodies and CAR-T for myeloma and their cost implications, including direct and indirect costs. We compare this to current regimens and provide cost comparisons in this review.
