Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of carbetocin versus oxytocin in preventing postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) in women with risk factors for PPH who were delived by caesarean section.
Methods: This retrospective, monocentric, before-and-after cohort study assessed patients with haemorrhagic risk factors who underwent caesarean section after 24 weeks of gestation and who had haemorrhagic risk factors between August 2014 to December 2019.
Results: This study enrolled 518 patients, including 250 in the oxytocin group and 268 in the carbetocin group.
Objectives: Drug shortages are of increasing concern to worldwide public health. The consequences of drug shortages for patient safety have been little studied, especially from a pharmacovigilance point of view. In this context, the network of French pharmacovigilance centres conducted the CIRUPT study (Conséquences Iatrogènes des RUPTures de stock/iatrogenic consequences of drug shortages) based on a prospective campaign of adverse effects occurring in the context of drug shortage notifications.

Transmembrane carriers of the Slc11 family catalyze proton (H)-dependent uptake of divalent metal ions (Me) such as manganese and iron-vital elements coveted during infection. The Slc11 mechanism of high-affinity Me cell import is selective and conserved between prokaryotic (MntH) and eukaryotic (Nramp) homologs, though processes coupling the use of the proton motive force to Me uptake evolved repeatedly. Adding bacterial piracy of genes spread in distinct environmental niches suggests selective gain of function that may benefit opportunistic pathogens.

To evaluate the renal safety profile in real-life conditions, a case/non-case study was performed on VigiBase, the WHO global safety database.
Methods: From 7 November 2001 to 2 June 2021, all cases in which the involvement of imatinib, dasatinib, nilotinib, bosutinib, and ponatinib was suspected in the occurrence of renal ADR were extracted from VigiBase.
