[Studies of dentition abnormalities in children of the Republic of Armenia for the purpose of personality identification].

This paper reports the results of investigations carried out to elucidate the frequency and the structure of various forms of abnormalities of dentition among the children of the preschool and school age in the Republic of Armenia. These data may be of help for the forensic medical personality identification especially for the expertise of unrecognized corpses. Moreover, these data provide an indirect picture of the prevalence of abnormalities of dentition among the adult population of the country.

[Study of anatomical and topographical peculiarities of the mucosal pattern on the dorsal surface of the tongue in the immediate and late postmortem periods].

The authors present information about anatomical and topographical peculiarities of the patterns of the mucous membrane at the backside surface of the tongue in the immediate and late postmortem periods. The apparent dynamics of the structural changes on this surface does not exclude the possibility of using them as the criteria for personality identification within 1 month after death.

[Comparative characteristic of a dorsum mucous structure of tongue in habitants of the Republic of Armenia and ethnic-and-race groups of Russia for aim of the forensic medical examination].

There are investigated the structural features of the mucous membrane of the dorsum of tongue, as well as pigmentation of the gums and tongue in residents of the Republic of Armenia in order to determine the ethnic-and-race of an individual. A comprehensive research, which included clinical, morphometric and histological studies and statistical analysis was conducted. The data obtained were compared with those of other ethnic-and-race groups.

[Study of the specific features of the tooth and jaw system of Dagestanians and Armenians for personality identification].

The objective of this study was to elucidate anatomic and morphological features of the dental system in several ethnic groups comprising Dagestan population (Laks, Avars, Dargins) and the population of Armenia (Armenians) for the establishment of their ethno-racial identity. Clinical, morphometric, and X-ray studies were conducted; the data obtained were treated statistically. It was demonstrated that the ethnic and racial identity of the population groups of Dagestan and Armenia included in the study can be determined based on selected characteristics of their dentoalveolar system.
