Omissions or delays in desmopressin can result in serious patient harm in patients with Arginine-Vasopressin Deficiency (AVP-D), formally known as Cranial Diabetes Insipidus (CDI). Desmopressin administration practice in hospitals has not been thoroughly investigated previously. This study evaluated desmopressin prescription and administration practice at a large tertiary centre.

Background: The human gut mycobiome, a minor but integral component of the gut microbiome, has emerged as a significant player in host homeostasis and disease development. While bacteria have traditionally been the focus of gut microbiome studies, recent evidence suggests that fungal communities (mycobiota) may also play a crucial role in modulating health, particularly in neuropsychiatric disorders.
Objective: This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of current knowledge on the relationship between the gut mycobiome and neuropsychiatric disorders, exploring the potential of targeting fungal communities as a novel therapeutic strategy.
Background: This study aimed to investigate the effects of intradialytic concurrent (resistance-endurance) training combined with melatonin (MEL) supplementation on oxidative stress, inflammation, and cellular damage in hemodialysis (HD) patients.
Methods: Thirty-two HD patients were randomly assigned to three groups: Exercise (EX)-MEL, EX-Placebo (PLA), and Control (C)-PLA. Participants in the EX-MEL and EX-PLA groups underwent 12 weeks of concurrent training.
Hepatitis B-associated glomerulonephritis (GN) has been recognized for decades. However, only a few cases of IgA nephropathy (IgAN) in a setting of rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis (RPGN) associated with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) have been described. Herein, we report the case of a 42-year-old Asian female with a past medical history significant for chronic HBV on entecavir, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and newly diagnosed breast cancer, who underwent elective bilateral mastectomy and breast augmentation.
