The mechanical behavior of AA6082 Kelvin cell foams under compressive tests has been investigated in this work. The lost-PLA replication technique, a simple and cheap technique, has been adopted as the production method. Six Al alloy samples have been made and successively subjected to compressive tests in order to examine the mechanical response and the repeatability too.

The goal of this paper is to improve the mechanical strength-to-weight ratios of metal cubic lattice structures using unit cells with fillet shapes inspired by triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS). The lattice structures here presented were fabricated from AA6082 aluminum alloy using lost-PLA processing. Static and dynamic flat and wedge compression tests were conducted on samples with varying fillet shapes and fill factors.

The evidence shows that the COVID-19 pandemic dramatically increased the number of urgent psychiatric consultations for children and adolescents in hospital emergency departments (EDs). However, what needs to be further investigated are the characteristics of psychiatric hospitalization in children and adolescents admitted to the Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry Unit wards in EDs. Specifically, this retrospective study aimed to examine changes in (i) the number of inpatients and (ii) the distribution of psychopathological disorders and self-injurious behaviors in our Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry Unit ward during the COVID-19 lockdown in Italy (March-June 2020; October 2020-January 2021) compared with the same months of previous years.

is a dangerous human pathogen capable of causing pneumonia and invasive disease. The virulence factor PspA has been studied for nearly four decades with well-established roles in pneumococcal evasion of C-reactive protein and neutralization of lactoferricin. Herein, we show that mammalian (m)GAPDH in mucosal secretions promotes aggregation of pneumococci in a PspA-dependent fashion, whereas lactoferrin counters this effect.
