Trial Design: This controlled in vivo experimental study examines the impact of two periosteum preparation techniques on microcirculation during bone augmentation with isogenic bone grafts in rats.
Methods: Twenty female Lewis rats were divided into two groups (n=10 each). In one group, the periosteum was prepared with a conventional periosteal elevator; in the other, a piezoelectric device was used.
This study evaluates the suitability of cerebral oximetry using near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) compared to traditional pulse oximetry (SpO2) for measuring cerebral oxygen saturation during hypoxia testing, aiming to enhance safety during flight operations and training. The study included 106 participants aged 18-60 years at the Aerospace Medicine Training Center in Königsbrück. Cerebral oxygen saturation (rSO2) and peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2) were measured using the INVOS™ 5100C cerebral oximeter and Masimo™ MS5 pulse oximeter, respectively.

Herein, the new Mutation Interaction Spectrum model defines a discrete outcome, named a Mutation Interaction, for each double point mutation in a gene and its component single mutations. The model is a universal genetic model of all types of mutation interactions and their functional outcomes and is derived from digital logic, commonly used in electrical engineering.
