The usefulness of NDDI-E and QOLIE-10 scales for the screening of major depressive disorders in patients with epilepsy in video-EEG units.

Objective: Mood disorders in patients with epilepsy are common, with depression being the most prevalent. However, this comorbidity is often underdiagnosed. The systematic use of scales such as NDDI-E and QOLIE-10 in prolonged video-EEG monitoring units could be a useful tool for the detection of this comorbidity.

Ketamine in the treatment of refractory and super-refractory status epilepticus: Experience from two centres.

Purpose: There is insufficient evidence on the management of refractory status epilepticus (RSE) and super-RSE (SRSE). Ketamine is a N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor antagonist in the treatment of these entities. Our objectives were to study the effectiveness and safety of ketamine in the treatment of adult patients with RSE and SRSE, to determine the factors that can influence the response to ketamine, and to explore its use in patients without mechanical ventilation.

Cenobamate in patients with highly refractory focal epilepsy: A retrospective real-world study.

Purpose: To determine the effectiveness and safety outcomes of cenobamate in a cohort of patients with highly refractory focal epilepsy in routine clinical practice.

Methods: Observational, retrospective, phase 4 study on subjects receiving cenobamate in three Spanish centers. The primary endpoint was the retention rate at the last follow-up.

The importance of timing in epilepsia partialis continua.

Introduction: Timing is one of the most important modifiable prognostic factors in the management of status epilepticus. Epilepsia partialis continua (EPC) is a status epilepticus subtype of highly variable, occasionally prolonged, duration.
