Objectives: To evaluate the long-term effectiveness, persistence and tolerability of dolutegravir (DTG)/lamivudine (3TC), compared with the most frequently prescribed first-line treatment regimens, among antiretroviral-naive people with HIV from CoRIS, a multicentre cohort in Spain, in 2018-23.

Methods: We used multivariable regression models to compare viral suppression (VS) (HIV RNA viral load <50 copies/mL), change in CD4 cell counts, persistence and treatment discontinuations due to adverse events (AEs), at 96 (±24) weeks after treatment initiation.

Results: Of 2359 participants, DTG/3TC was prescribed in 472 (20.

Article Synopsis
  • * The study investigates how follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) influences lipid storage and fat-related gene expression in SCs, using cultured SCs from 20-day-old rats.
  • * Results showed that FSH increased lipid droplet and triacylglyceride levels in SCs and activated specific genes, suggesting it regulates lipid storage through the cAMP/PKA signaling pathway to meet energy needs.

Objectives: We assessed the opinions of physicians caring for people with HIV (PWH) from the multicentre Spanish CoRIS cohort regarding the assessment of health-related quality of life (HRQoL).

Methods: We designed an online self-administered questionnaire comprising 27 structured questions across four domains: (i) sociodemographic and clinical data; (ii) usefulness of measuring HRQoL; (iii) information, training and resource needed; and (iv) whether and how HRQoL should be measured. Physicians completed the questionnaire between April and June 2023.

Systems chemistry aims to develop molecular systems that display emerging properties arising from their network and absent in their individual constituents. Employing reversible chemistry under thermodynamic control represents a valuable tool for generating dynamic combinatorial libraries of interconverting molecules, which may exhibit intriguing collective behaviour. A simple dynamic combinatorial library was prepared using dithioacetal/thiol/disulfide exchanges.

Liraglutide, an analog of the incretin hormone glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1), is widely used for obesity and type 2 diabetes treatment. However, there is scarce information about its effects on testicular function. Within the testis, Sertoli cells (SCs) provide nutritional support for germ cells; they metabolize glucose to lactate, which is delivered to germ cells to be used as a preferred energy substrate.
