Background/objectives: In a previous study, we described elevated anti- IgG levels in septic patients in relation to disease severity. In this study, our objective was to analyze the evolution of anti- immunoglobulins in septic patients during hospital admission and their association with αβ and γδ T cell subsets.
Methods: We recruited 80 subjects: 40 patients with sepsis and 40 controls.
Background And Objectives: Polymeric clamp-like devices present potential advantages regarding plates and screws to close craniotomies; however, no clinical research has provided enough evidence to compare them. This randomized controlled trial compares the clinical safety and performance of clamp-like devices with the standard of care for craniotomy closure: titanium plates and screws (P&S).
Methods: A prospective, double-arm, multicenter randomized controlled trial was performed at 3 sites, recruiting 60 patients undergoing neurosurgical interventions requiring craniotomy.

Obesity-induced metabolic alterations worsen cancer prognosis and influence the intestinal biochemical barrier, altering the Multidrug resistance-associated protein 2 (Mrp2) and Multidrug resistance protein-1 (Mdr-1), efflux pumps that transport chemotherapeutic drugs. Obesity and cancer are frequent co-morbidities; thus, our aim was to evaluate the effectiveness and toxicity of MCT with cyclophosphamide (Cy) in obese mice with metabolic alterations bearing a mammary adenocarcinoma.
