View Article and Find Full Text PDFArbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungal community associated with pecan () roots and rhizospheric soils was assessed by spore isolation and morphological characterisation and by pyrosequencing of AM molecular markers. The AM fungal community associated with pecan growing in the field, was always more diverse than that associated with pecan growing in containers. This was not observed when AM richness was studied, suggesting that soil disturbance by a reduction in host plant richness leads to a less equitable distribution of AM fungal species, in contrast to natural soils.

Methods And Results: Tricalcium phosphate (CP) solubilization efficiency of P. purpurogenum was evaluated at acid or alkaline pH using different C and N sources.
1-O-octadecyl-2-O-methylglycero-3-phosphocholine (ET-18-OMe)-treated precultured heart fragments (PHF) are resistant to the invasion of malignant cells. Previous studies have demonstrated that this effect is due to the alterations of the N-linked glycoproteins in PHF after 48-h ET-18-OMe treatment. Moreover, the observed effect was still present seven days after ET-18-OMe was omitted.
