The understanding of cultural dynamics at work at the end of the Final Pleistocene in West Africa suffers from a significant lack of excavated and dated sites, particularly in the Sahelian and Sudanian ecozones. While the Later Stone Age shows varied behavioral developments in different parts of the continent, the chrono-cultural framework of this period remains largely unknown in West Africa. We report on archaeological, geomorphological, and chronological research on two Final Pleistocene Later Stone Age sites in the Falémé Valley, eastern Senegal.

Microvascular reconstruction of the cheek is most often performed using fasciocutaneous flaps and without functional reconstruction of the masseter muscle. This article reports a technique of masseter muscle resection, dissection of the masseteric nerve, and masseter muscle reconstruction with a functional gracilis muscle flap. The technique was applied in a 38-year-old man with recurrent intramuscular lipoma of the right masseter muscle.

This preliminary study aims to describe a novel technique of condylar reconstruction with a microvascular flap in case of deforming arthrosis of the TMJ: condylar capping.
Patients And Methods: Four patients between 22 and 62 years old-three females and one male-with severe unilateral arthrosis of the TMJ underwent condylar capping.
Background: Premature fusion of cranial sutures affects skull development and leads to head deformity. Intracranial pressure increase and brain growth restriction can occur in untreated craniosynostosis. Operative treatment aims to achieve an immediate and long-lasting correction of skull shape that is close to the average and to prevent or release possible increased intracranial pressure by increasing the intracranial volume (ICV) or normalizing the ICV if it is already below the standards.
