Locating primary somatosensory cortex in human brain stimulation studies: experimental evidence.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) over human primary somatosensory cortex (S1) does not produce immediate outputs. Researchers must therefore rely on indirect methods for TMS coil positioning. The "gold standard" is to use individual functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data, but the majority of studies don't do this.

Validation of an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the determination of 4-nonylphenol and octylphenol in surface water samples by LC-ESI-MS.

4-Nonylphenol (NP) and octylphenol (OP) were measured by direct ELISA in both laboratory-fortified and surface water samples collected monthly from 10 rivers. In this procedure, samples were concentrated by solid phase extraction (SPE) using Lichrolut RP-18 sorbent with good recoveries obtained for both LC-MS and ELISA, giving a low level of detection (LOD) at the range of low mugL(-1) and good reproducibility. Analysis of 40 surface water samples demonstrated that the ELISA may be a useful screening tool for the determination of the alkylphenols in surface water matrices.

[Analysis of prescriptions for mass-produced drugs from various pharmacotherapeutic groups. Diuretics].

The present paper links up with the studies carried out at the Department of Organization and Management of Pharmacy within the framework of a grant. It analyzes prescription of diuretics, the characteristics of identification being age and sex. Also the frequency of occurrence of diseases and the individual diagnoses according to the International Statistical Classification, 10th revision, were examined.
