GSLs are the major glycolipids in vertebrates and mediate many key biological processes from intercellular recognition to regulation of signal transduction. The fast-expanding field of glycobiology has led to a growing demand for diverse and structurally defined GSLs, and enzymatic GSL synthesis is developing rapidly in accordance. This article provides an overview of natural GSL biosynthetic pathways and surveys the bacterial enzymes applied to GSL synthesis and recent progress in synthesis strategies.

Methods: This was a prospective, observational study conducted on 59 cases of LDH planned for lumbar microdiscectomy, and healthy control group with 54 participants for analysis was performed prior to surgery and 15 days after surgery. The spatiotemporal gait parameters were measured using a "Win-Track" gait analysis platform system.

Long non-coding RNAs have been proposed as biomarkers for the detection, prevention and screening of various malignancies. In this study, two lncRNAs (ANRIL and BANCR) were assessed for biomarker application in the early detection of colorectal cancer (CRC) through stool specimen testing, as a non-invasive and cost-effective methodology. A total of 40 stool samples were collected from patients referred to the hospital with colorectal cancer or adenomatous polyps as pre-cancerous lesions; patients were diagnosed using colonoscopy and pathology reports were available.
