Misleading Imaging Findings: Bilateral Mylohyoid Defect Presenting as a Submandibular Mass Due to Sublingual Gland Protrusion.

Background/objectives: The muscular base of the oral cavity is formed of the mylohyoid muscle, which forms a sling inferior to the tongue. The muscle is often discontinuous, and defects may include salivary tissues, fat, and/or blood vessels. Hypertrophic sublingual glands located in mylohyoid defects can be herniated into bilateral submandibular spaces and present as palpable masses.

Novel radionuclides: demand, production and distribution for translational research in Europe.

Background: In the field of medical and scientific research, radionuclides are used to investigate various physiological and pathological processes. PRISMAP - the European medical radionuclide programme was created to bring together production facilities including intense neutron sources, an isotope mass separation facility, high-power accelerators, biomedical research institutes, and hospitals to support medical research. The aim of this article is to introduce readers with the current status of innovative radionuclides in Europe.

Role of Apparent Diffusion Coefficient Value and Apparent Diffusion Coefficient Ratio as Prognostic Factors for Prostate Cancer Aggressiveness.

Background: Prostate cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers in the male population. To determine the aggressiveness of suspected lesions precisely, predictive models are increasingly being developed using quantitative MRI measurements, and particularly the ADC value. This study aimed to determine whether ADC values could be used to establish the aggressiveness of prostate cancer.

"WATCH AND WAIT" STRATEGY IN RECTAL CANCER PATIENTS WITH A COMPLETE CLINICAL RESPONSE AFTER NEOADJUVANT CHEMORADIATION THERAPY: A SINGLE-CENTER EXPERIENCE.

Background: The non-operative management of rectal adenocarcinoma (RA) after neoadjuvant chemoradiation therapy (nCRT) has gained increasing attention. The "Watch and Wait" ("W&W") strategy allows one to avoid surgery-related reduction in the quality of life due to permanent pelvic organ dysfunction or irreversible stoma. Still, the oncological safety of this strategy is under evaluation.
