Introduction: CD38, a regulator of intracellular calcium signalling, is highly expressed in immune cells. Mice lacking CD38 are very susceptible to acute bacterial infections, implicating CD38 in innate immune responses. The effects of CD38 inhibition on NLRP3 inflammasome activation in human primary monocytes and monocyte-derived macrophages have not been investigated.

Production of polymer material goods on-demand is a recurring science fiction element, but advances in chemistry and engineering have pushed it closer to reality. Experienced at a hobby scale by 3D printing enthusiasts and at an industrial level through rapid prototyping and modular manufacturing, the approach is on its way to further flexibility and high-performance material production. We review the advances in on-demand materials design as well as manufacturing, using examples in space exploration and sustainability, because these are cases where the value proposition for rapid changes in materials is strong.

Background: Injectable biostimulator treatments stimulate endogenous collagen in aging skin, but whether they act through similar pathways is unknown. This study evaluates two biostimulatory agents' effects on genes, expressed proteins, and respective pathways as potential aging biomarkers and treatment outcomes.

Methods: This 13-week, randomized, single-center, comparative study compared volume change and gene expression stimulated by poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCATM) and calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA-R) via punch biopsy in the nasolabial fold (NLF).

Background: Therapeutic activity after stroke is a component of early recovery strategies. Interactive video games have been shown to be safe as an adjunct rehabilitation therapy in the medical intensive care setting, but patients with neurologic disease were often excluded from those protocols.

Objectives: To evaluate the feasibility and safety of individualized interactive video game therapy in critically ill neurologic patients.
