Fouling-resistant coating materials have important applications in marine industry and biomedicine. Zwitterionic carboxybetaine polymers have demonstrated robust antibiofouling functionalities in experiments. In this work, we performed atomistic molecular dynamics simulations to study the molecular mechanism of hydration and antibiofouling of poly(carboxybetaine acrylamide) (polyCBAA) brush surfaces.

Bovine anaplasmosis is an infectious, tick-borne disease caused by species, which is accountable for huge economic loss in dairy industry. This study was aimed to determine the seroprevalence of bovine anaplasmosis on randomly selected 61 commercial dairy farms in 3 intensive regions of Bangladesh. A total of 1472 sera were analysed using VMRD Antibody Test Kit cELISA v2 for the presence of -specific antibodies.

Background: The rapid advancement of digital technologies, particularly in big data analytics (BDA), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and deep learning (DL), is reshaping the global health care system, including in Bangladesh. The increased adoption of these technologies in health care delivery within Bangladesh has sparked their integration into health care and public health research, resulting in a noticeable surge in related studies. However, a critical gap exists, as there is a lack of comprehensive evidence regarding the research landscape; regulatory challenges; use cases; and the application and adoption of BDA, AI, ML, and DL in the health care system of Bangladesh.

Article Synopsis
  • Soluble CD163 (sCD163) is a key inflammatory mediator linked to both acute and chronic inflammation, and its levels in the body reflect the presence of CD163-expressing macrophages.
  • The shedding of the CD163 receptor leads to increased sCD163 concentrations, which plays various roles including scavenging hemoglobin, serving as a macrophage marker, and affecting immune responses.
  • Elevated sCD163 levels are associated with the severity and progression of various diseases like asthma, sepsis, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis, highlighting its importance in disease diagnosis and management.

Article Synopsis
  • * Researchers found that activating RhoA in endothelial cells is key for this migration, driven by signals from tumor cells via IL-8 and β integrins.
  • * Blocking RhoA in endothelial cells significantly reduced the ability of breast cancer cells to migrate and metastasize, suggesting that targeting RhoA could be an effective strategy for treating solid tumors.
