[Method of repair of anterior abdominal wall defects in children].

Experimental studies were conducted on 60 cadavers of children whose ages ranged from 0 to 14 years. A defect measuring 6-10 cm was formed in the muscles of the anterior abdominal wall (an approximate model of a hiatal opening). Several rows of crimping sutures were then applied to the aponeurosis of the rectus abdominis muscle above and below the defect.

[Problems of iatrogenic diseases in pediatric surgery].

The author considers iatrogenesis as a phenomenon, determines therapeutic manipulations responsible for iatrogenic complications, indicates the commonest iatrogenic diseases relevant to children's surgery, analyzes psychogenic and somatogenic iatrogenic diseases. The problem involving a number of unresolved terminological and statistical problems assumes ever greater importance. It can be managed only with mutual attempts of the clinicians and pathologists.
