Motivation: Phage therapy is a viable alternative for treating bacterial infections amidst the escalating threat of antimicrobial resistance. However, the therapeutic success of phage therapy depends on selecting safe and effective phage candidates. While experimental methods focus on isolating phages and determining their lifecycle and host range, comprehensive genomic screening is critical to identify markers that indicate potential risks, such as toxins, antimicrobial resistance, or temperate lifecycle traits.

Cisgender women living with HIV experience elevated cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk that increases with age, a concern given extended life expectancies for people living with HIV. The CVD risk disparity among cisgender women aging with HIV is understudied and remains unclear. Taking a psychoneuroimmunology approach, given this group's intersecting marginalized identities, one potential driver of the disparity is intersectional stigma.

Sexual economic exchanges, including sex work and transactional sex, have been consistently associated with HIV acquisition among young women in sub-Saharan Africa. Heterogeneity in HIV vulnerability across overlapping types of sexual economic exchange has not been sufficiently explored, limiting appropriate and effective linkage to prevention interventions. From January 2017 to May 2018, cross-sectional data were captured at screening for entry into an HIV incidence cohort in Kisumu, Kenya.
