Transcripts of the KRAS locus are alternatively spliced to generate two proteins, KRAS4A and KRAS4B, which differ in their membrane-targeting sequences. These splice variants have been conserved for more than 450 million years, suggesting non-overlapping functions driven by differential membrane association. Here, we use proximity labeling to map the differential interactomes of the KRAS splice variants.

Aim: In 2019, cardiovascular diseases accounted for 32% of global deaths. So, early detection of cardiac disorders is crucial. The study aimed to examine the suitability of Pro-neurotensin and Heart-type fatty acid binding protein as dependable biomarkers for cardiac patients with Heart failure as a primary diagnosis.

Methods: Focus groups were conducted with male survivors of prostate (N = 14) and colorectal cancers (N = 10), from rural Virginia. Demographic and clinical information were collected via surveys.
Objectives: Radical cystectomy with urinary diversion is the gold standard treatment for bladder cancer (high-risk/muscle invasive). The transperitoneal approach is associated with significant gastrointestinal complications like ileus. In the elderly and frail with a single functional kidney, we describe an extraperitoneal technique of radical cystectomy, with a ureterostomy, to be performed without general anesthesia.

We have previously shown that IgLON genes are expressed in sensory nuclei/pathways and that IgLON proteins modulate sensory processing. Here, we examined the expression of IgLON alternative promoter-specific isoforms during embryonic development and studied the sensory consequences of the anatomical changes when one of the IgLON genes, Negr1, is knocked out.
