Community health workers (CHWs) play a significant role in supporting health services delivery in communities with few trained health care providers. There has been limited research on ways to optimize the role of CHWs in HIV prevention service delivery. This study explored CHWs' experiences with offering HIV prevention services [HIV testing and HIV pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP and PEP)] during three pilot studies in rural communities in Kenya and Uganda, which aimed to increase biomedical HIV prevention coverage via a structured patient-centered HIV prevention delivery model.

However, concerns about parasite resistance to sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine in East and Southern Africa necessitate evaluating alternative drug regimens. This study assessed the effectiveness of SPAQ and dihydroartemisinin-piperaquine for SMC in Uganda.

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) has been recommended as a key component of the HIV combination prevention strategy. Although patient initiation of PrEP has improved, continuation rates remain low.

This study examines SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence and risk factors among Ugandan children at two timepoints, along with COVID-19-related knowledge and practices in households, including adult vaccination status.
Methods: Baseline surveys were conducted in 12 communities from April to May 2021 (post-Alpha wave) and follow-up surveys in 32 communities from November 2021 to March 2022 (Omicron wave).
Objectives: The number of mosquito bites a person receives determines the risk of acquiring malaria and the likelihood of transmitting infections to mosquitoes. We assessed heterogeneity in biting and associated factors in two settings in Uganda with different endemicity.
Methods: parasites in blood-fed indoor caught mosquitoes were quantified using qPCR targeting the Pf18S rRNA gene.
