Research is yet to consider the potential for personal trainers (PTs) to influence their client's thoughts and feelings surrounding their body. This pre-registered study explored a model of positive body image in women personal training clients in the UK. Participants (n = 234, mean age = 51) completed an online questionnaire assessing body mass index (BMI), perceived body acceptance by their PT and various other measures related to body image.

Estimated reduction in human salmonellosis incidence in Canada from a new government requirement to reduce in frozen breaded chicken products.

Nontyphoidal infections are a leading cause of enteric disease in Canada, most commonly associated with foodborne exposures. Raw frozen breaded chicken products (FBCP) have been implicated in 16 outbreaks between 2017 and 2019. This study quantified the impact of the 1 April 2019 requirement by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) for manufacturers to reduce in raw FBCP.

Phase retrieval in propagation-based X-ray imaging beyond the limits of transport of intensity and contrast transfer function approaches.

We derive a phase retrieval formula for propagation-based phase contrast X-ray imaging that does not require weakly attenuating objects or short propagation distances. It is directly applicable to both single- and multiple-distance scenarios. We show the validity conditions and study the error of the underlying mutual intensity approximation, which uses the common assumptions of weak phase shift variations and phase-attenuation duality.

Continuous and discrete proportion elicit different cognitive strategies.

Despite proportional information being ubiquitous, there is not a standard account of proportional reasoning. Part of the difficulty is that there are several apparent contradictions: in some contexts, proportion is easy and privileged, while in others it is difficult and ignored. One possibility is that although we see similarities across tasks requiring proportional reasoning, people approach them with different strategies.
