Objectives: Lung ultrasound (LU) is effective in diagnosing the accumulation of extravascular lung water and assessing real-time fluid status in infants following congenital cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass. This study evaluated whether LU can be used as a prognostic marker for changes in noninvasive respiratory support after extubation.
Methods: Infants with congenital heart disease (CHD) <1 year of age requiring mechanical ventilation for more than 24 hours postoperatively were included.
Background: Patient-derived biospecimens are invaluable tools in biomedical research. Currently, there are no mechanisms for patients to follow along and learn about the uses of their donated samples. Incorporating patients as stakeholders and meaningfully engaging them in biomedical research first requires transparency of research activities.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective single center study included patients with HCC who underwent TACE between 2008 and 2019 in a single tertiary care center. After initial screening of 408 consecutive patients, 317 patients with HCC treated with conventional or drug-eluting beads-TACE were included.
Background: PI3K pathway activation is a common and early event in prostate cancer, from loss of function mutations in PTEN, or activating mutations in PIK3Ca or AKT leading to constitutive activation, induction of growth factor-receptors kinase EphB4 and its ligand ephrin-B2. We hypothesized that induction of EphB4 is an early event required for tumor initiation. Secondly, we hypothesized that EphB4 remains relevant when prostate cancer becomes androgen independent.

Here, IC-FPOMP (in-cell fast photochemical oxidation of MPs) is introduced, a method enabling in situ footprinting of IMPs within live cells. IC-FPOMP generates reactive oxygen radicals from various precursors (TiO nanoparticles or HO) near the membrane.
