Purpose: Retinal development in the mouse continues past birth and provides a widely used model system in which photoreceptor formation can be observed and manipulated. This experimental paradigm provides opportunities for both gain-of-function and loss-of-function studies, which can be accomplished through in vivo or ex vivo plasmid delivery and electroporation. However, the cis-regulatory elements used to implement this approach have not been fully evaluated or optimized for the unique transcriptional environment of photoreceptors.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFIntroduction: The BIC-T&T study aimed to determine the efficacy of bictegraviremtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide (BIC/F/TAF) and darunavir/cobicistat/emtricitabinetenofovir alafenamide (DRV/c/F/TAF) at suppressing viral load in a two-arm, open-label, multi-centre, randomised trial under a UK test-and-treat setting. This sub-study aimed to evaluate potential off-target cardiovascular impact by examining platelet function.
Methods: Platelets were isolated by centrifugation of citrated blood from participants attending Chelsea and Westminster Hospital or St Mary's Hospital at Week 48 following enrolment.
Organ function depends on the three-dimensional integrity of the extracellular matrix (ECM). The structure resulting from the location and association of ECM components is a central regulator of cell behavior, but a dearth of matrix-specific analysis keeps it unresolved. Here, we deploy a high-resolution, 3D ECM mapping method and design a machine-learning powered pipeline to detect and characterize ECM architecture during health and disease.

To accomplish this task, we describe the plan for implementing our initiative, the Cancer Health Assets and Needs Assessment (CHANA). CHANA compiles, into a single source, up-to-date data that describes the cancer landscape of North Carolina's 100 counties.
