Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are age-related diseases characterized by bone marrow (BM) dysfunction and an increased risk of developing acute leukemia. While there is growing evidence highlighting the crucial role of the BM microenvironment (BMME) in MDS, the specific influence of inflammation on BMME changes, as well as the potential benefits of targeting cytokines therapeutically, remain to be elucidated. We previously found interleukin-1 (IL-1) to be a driver of aging phenotypes of BMME and hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs).

In this paper, we present a global reactive motion planning framework designed for robotic manipulators navigating in complex dynamic environments. Utilizing local minima-free circular fields, our methodology generates reactive control commands while also leveraging global environmental information from arbitrary configuration space motion planners to identify promising trajectories around obstacles. Mechanical bonds arise between molecules that contain interlocked subunits, such as one macrocycle threaded through another. Within polymers, these linkages will confer distinctive mechanical properties and other emergent behaviors, but polymerizations that form mechanical bonds efficiently and use simple monomeric building blocks are rare. In this work, we introduce a solid-state polymerization in which one monomer infiltrates crystals of another to form a macrocycle and mechanical bond at each repeat unit of a two-dimensional (2D) polymer.

Schistosomiasis is a group of both acute and chronic parasitic trematode infections of the genus . Research into schistosomiasis has been minimal, leading to its classification as a neglected tropical disease, yet more than 140 million people are infected with schistosomes globally. There are no treatments available for early-stage infections, schistosomal dermatitis, or Katayama syndrome, other than symptomatic control with steroids and antihistamines, as the maturing organisms seem to be mostly resistant to typical antiparasitics.

Inversion of chromosome 16 [inv(16)] is one of the most common chromosomal rearrangements in Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and generates the fusion gene , which initiates leukemogenesis. Patients with inv(16) at diagnosis invariably have the rearrangement at relapse, leading to the assumption that is required after leukemic transformation.
