Purpose: Environmental enrichment (EE) represents a dynamic approach to enhance infants' cognitive and motor development through augmented environment with stimulating, novel opportunities. Despite the recognized benefits of EE on neuromotor outcomes, its integration into early physical therapy interventions for infants at risk of neuromotor delays and disabilities remains under-defined and inconsistently applied in standard practice. This gap underscores the necessity for comprehensive guidance to systematically incorporate EE into early intervention programs and daily routines.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: This study evaluated the feasibility of ChatGPT and Gemini, two off-the-shelf large language models (LLMs), to automate causality assessments, focusing on Adverse Events Following Immunizations (AEFIs) of myocarditis and pericarditis related to COVID-19 vaccines.
Methods: We assessed 150 COVID-19-related cases of myocarditis and pericarditis reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) in the United States of America (USA). Both LLMs and human experts conducted the World Health Organization (WHO) algorithm for vaccine causality assessments, and inter-rater agreement was measured using percentage agreement.
Mechanical expansion and contraction of pores within photosynthetic organisms regulate a series of processes that are necessary to manage light absorption, control gas exchange, and regulate water loss. These pores, known as stoma, allow the plant to maximize photosynthetic output depending on environmental conditions such as light intensity, humidity, and temperature by actively changing the size of the stomal opening. Despite advances in artificial photosynthetic systems, little is known about the effect of such mechanical actuation in synthetic materials where chemical reactions occur.
