While extant passion research has predominantly highlighted the benefits of work passion, such passion may also have a dark side and provoke negative behaviors that harm others. This work examines abusive supervision as an outcome of leaders' obsessive work passion, and explores leaders' importance of performance to self-esteem (IPSE) as an antecedent of such passion. We test our predictions across two studies.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe study was aimed to the optimization of conservative therapy of micropenis in hypogonadal men using combination of traction therapy and androgen replacment therapy (ART) with injections of prolonged testosterone undecanoate (Nebido) and to evaluatiom of the safety of ART in terms of the risk of prostate cancer against the background of combined treatment of micropenis by both methods within 12 months. The study included 16 men aged 22-62 years with micropenis and hypogonadism. 10 men were diagnosed with primary hypogonadism, 6 men were diagnosed with secondary hypogonadism without reserve gonadal function; therefore, all 16 patients were treated with testosterone undecanoate 1000 mg intramuscularly according to the scheme: the second injection 6 weeks after the first injection, then each injection once a 12 weeks, the course of 12 months.

The significant changes in the properties of the hard dental tissues were detected in the patients. The electrometric indicators exceeded the norm in all teeth.

The authors presented results of studies concerning oral cavity state and mineral homeostasis in agriculture workers with diagnosed nephrolithiasis. Severity of nephrolithiasis appeared to correlate with oral cavity state.

Studies covered dental state and biologic homeostasis in oil extraction workers (drillers and driller assistants). Findings are high prevalence of parodentium disorders among the examinees. The peripheral blood and mouth lavage appeared to contain excessive amounts of metals (nickel, cadmium).
