Background: The incidence of infective endocarditis is increasing over time. Data on the impact of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of amoxicillin on treatment outcomes are scarce. The objective of this study was to describe the epidemiology of infective endocarditis and to evaluate whether the MIC of amoxicillin might influence mortality.

Purpose: Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC) describes a heterogeneous group of rare congenital conditions. Health-related quality of life (HRQL) may be reduced in AMC due to broadly heterogeneous physical impairments and participation limitations. This study described HRQL in children and youth with AMC, compared HRQL between child self- and parent-proxy reports, and identified factors associated with better/worse HRQL.

Effectiveness of Several GRAS Salts against Fungal Rot of Fruit after Harvest and Assessment of the Phytotoxicity of Sodium Metabisufite in Treated Fruit.

This study evaluates the efficacy of the salts sodium metabisulfite (SMB), ammonium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, and potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate first in vitro against the main postharvest fruit rot fungi, , , , and . Results showed that 0.2% SMB completely inhibited the mycelium growth of the fungal species.
