Aedes albopictus is a widely recognized carrier of various pathogens. Its resilient characteristics enable it to easily spread across diverse climates. The microbiota in the midgut of mosquitoes plays a crucial role in the interactions between the host and pathogens and can either enhance or reduce the ability of the insect to transmit diseases.

Early interactions between Leishmania-macrophages (MQ) of host and effect of sand fly saliva are central to leishmaniasis outcome. Macrophages are able to kill or act as long-term hosts of parasite depending on host immunity. It proved that immunogenic proteins in sand fly saliva mostly have an exacerbating effect on leishmaniasis by up-regulating cytokines.

Article Synopsis
  • Phleboviruses are divided into two main groups: the sandfly fever group (spread by sandflies and mosquitoes) and the Uukuniemi group (spread by ticks).
  • The study focused on identifying sandfly species and detecting sandfly-borne viruses (SBVs) in Iran, using PCR techniques.
  • Researchers identified five positive specimens for phleboviruses, shedding light on the molecular epidemiology of Tehran virus, sandfly fever Sicilian virus, and Karimabad virus in the region.

Over the last few decades, reliability analysis has attracted significant interest due to its importance in risk and asset integrity management. Meanwhile, Bayesian inference has proven its advantages over other statistical tools, such as maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) and least square estimation (LSE), in estimating the parameters characterizing failure modelling. Indeed, Bayesian inference can incorporate prior beliefs and information into the analysis, which could partially overcome the lack of data.

In this paper, a risk-based optimization methodology for a maintenance schedule considering Process Variables (PVs), is developed within the framework of asset integrity assessment. To this end, an integration of Dynamic Bayesian Network, Damage Modelling and sensitivity analysis are implemented to clarify the behaviour of failure probability, considering the exogenous undisciplinable perturbations. Discrete time case is considered through measuring or observing the PVs.
