Parental Perceptions and Knowledge towards Asthma Action Plans.

Introduction: Personalised Asthma Action Plans (AAPs) are a cornerstone of paediatric asthma management. We aimed to assess parental knowledge and perceptions of the use of AAPs in managing their child's asthma.

Methods: In 2023 we conducted a cross-sectional survey to assess knowledge and perceptions of AAPs in parents/caregivers of children aged 0-17 years with asthma who had an AAP and attended respiratory clinics at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick.

Reliability of the International Spinal Cord Injury Physical Therapy-Occupational Therapy Basic Data Set.

In interventional clinical trials for persons with spinal cord injury (SCI), the influence of experimental biological, pharmacological, or device-related interventions must be differentiated from that of physical and occupational therapy interventions, as rehabilitation influences motor-related outcomes. The International Spinal Cord Injury (ISCI) Physical TherapyOccupational Therapy Basic Data Set (PT-OT BDS) was developed with the intent to track the content and time of rehabilitation interventions that are delivered concurrently with experimental interventions. We assessed the reliability of the PT-OT BDS based on agreement between users.

Developing and Investigating a Nanovibration Intervention for the Prevention/Reversal of Bone Loss Following Spinal Cord Injury.

Osteoporosis disrupts the fine-tuned balance between bone formation and resorption, leading to reductions in bone quantity and quality and ultimately increasing fracture risk. Prevention and treatment of osteoporotic fractures is essential for reductions in mortality, morbidity, and the economic burden, particularly considering the aging global population. Extreme bone loss that mimics time-accelerated osteoporosis develops in the paralyzed limbs following complete spinal cord injury (SCI).

Siglec-6 as a therapeutic target for cell migration and adhesion in chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Siglec-6 is a lectin receptor with restricted expression in the placenta, mast cells and memory B-cells. Although Siglec-6 is expressed in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), its pathophysiological role has not been elucidated. We describe here a role for Siglec-6 in migration and adhesion of CLL B cells to CLL- bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) in vitro and compromised migration to bone marrow and spleen in vivo.
