Objective: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of a protease inhibitor sparing, quadruple therapy (Combivir + abacavir + efavirenz) in antiretroviral treatment-naive HIV-1-infected adults.

Design: Multicenter open-label pilot study. Clinical and biological assessments were performed at baseline and at weeks 2, 4, 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48.

Agranular CD4+/CD56+ cutaneous neoplasm.

CD4+ CD56+ cutaneous neoplasm with hematological relapse is a rare malignant disease and has been described recently in the literature as blastic or agranular NK-cell leukemia/lymphoma. The origin of this neoplasm is uncertain. We describe a 75-year-old patient with a primary cutaneous neoplasm CD4+ CD56+ who evolved to leukemic phase despite standard lymphoma chemotherapy.

Acute myocardial ischemia after high-dose therapy with BEAM regimen.

We describe a case of acute myocardial ischemia following carmustine treatment during the BEAM regimen. Despite this, full completion of the autologous peripheral stem-cell transplant was possible.

[Perforation of the aorta after percutaneous closure of an atrial septal defect with an Amplatz prosthesis, presenting with acute severe hemolysis].

We report a case of aortic perforation three weeks after transcatheter occlusion of an atrial septal defect (ASD) by an Amplatzer device. Revealed by acute hemolysis, this complication needed an emergency surgical operation. The fistula between the no coronary Valsalva sinus of the aorta and the left atrium was repaired.
