The Certification Ranking of Stroke Treatment Centers Is Unclear to the General Public.

BACKGROUND: Certified stroke treatment centers are classified based on their available resources to treat stroke including an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital (ASRH), a primary stroke center (PSC), a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center (TCSC), and comprehensive stroke centers (CSCs). These hospitals all provide varying levels of care with CSCs being the most able to treat all types and complexities of stroke. This undergraduate nursing-led study explored the public's preference for treatment at different certified stroke treatment centers.

Widefield optical coherence tomography by electro-optical modulation.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a unique imaging modality capable of axial sectioning with a resolution of only a few microns. Its ability to image with high resolution deep within tissue makes it ideal for material inspection, dentistry, and, in particular, ophthalmology. Widefield retinal imaging has garnered increasing clinical interest for the detection of numerous retinal diseases.

Feasibility and Acceptability of Standardizing Portions in Restaurants.

Most restaurants serve customers excess calories which significantly contributes to the obesity epidemic. This pilot study tested the feasibility and acceptability of offering customers standardized portions to reduce caloric consumption when dining out in three restaurants. Portions were developed to limit quantity of food served, with lunches and dinners ≤ 700 cal and breakfast ≤ 500 cal.

Crystalline keratopathy secondary to the use of ciprofloxacin after cataract surgery with confirmation by histopathological study: A case report and review of the literature.

Objective: To report the case of a 75-year-old patient who presented crystalline keratopathy secondary to the use of topical ciprofloxacin with histopathological verification, after cataract surgery without complications.

Method: Case report with clinical and photographic follow-up, as well as slides with samples of epithelium and crystalline deposits.

Results: Corneal deposits resolved after drug suspension, topical lubricant change, and subsequent surgical debridement.
