Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of two EEG-derived indices, qCON and qNOX, in monitoring pediatric patients during surgery under general anesthesia, particularly during induction and recovery periods.
  • A total of 46 patients aged 1-12 years underwent elective surgeries, with their brain activity monitored using the CONOX system while sevoflurane was used for anesthesia.
  • Results showed that both indices demonstrated a simultaneous decrease and increase during anesthesia induction and recovery, with qNOX increasing significantly during surgical incision, but neither index strongly correlated with the sevoflurane dosage.

belongs to the Rosaceae family and has numerous therapeutic applications as potent plant-based medicine. Forty phytoconstituents (PCs) from the root and stem through n-hexane (NR and NS) and methanolic (MR and MS) extracts were identified in earlier studies. However, the PCs affecting human genes and their roles in the body have not previously been disclosed.

This study presents a novel approach to synthesizing silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) using a solution combustion synthesis (SCS) method with Catharanthus roseus (C. roseus) leaf extract. The NPs were thoroughly characterized through X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and Selected area electron diffraction (SAED), elucidating their crystal structure.
