Purpose: To evaluate the agreement between anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) measurement of preoperative distance from the limbus to the horizontal rectus muscle insertion and intraoperative measurement in patients who have previously undergone strabismus surgery and required reoperation.
Methods: Subjects from two ophthalmological centers were included. Preoperative AS-OCT was used to measure the muscle insertion from the limbus, and intraoperative measurements were obtained using calipers.
Background: Youths' online problematic behaviors, such as smartphone or social network sites (SNS) addiction, gained increasing attention nowadays, due to their impact on concurrent and later adjustment, such as emotional and/or behavioral problems, academic impairments, or relational issues.
Aims: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a pilot school-based intervention to contrast online addictive behaviors while fostering adolescents' self-regulative abilities.
Materials & Methods: The intervention started in January 2022 in an Italian junior high school located in Rome, and consisted of four meetings with students.
Background And Aims: Significance of absolute number of CD34 cells in the peripheral blood of patients with less than 1% myeloblasts by manual differential count is unknown and our aim is to study its relevance in clinical practice.
Methods: We studied 138 peripheral bloods flow cytometric analyses in patients with less than 1% myeloblasts by manual differential, when CD34 events were present in the gate that encompassed lymphocytes, monocytes, stem cells, and blasts.
Results: The average absolute number of CD34cells in the peripheral blood was 11 CD34cells/µL ranging from less than 1 cell/µL to 147 cells/µL.
Introduction: Recent research highlight increasing at-risk online sexual activities and behaviors during the COVID-19 pandemic among young adults. Specifically, sexting refers to exchanging sexually suggestive messages, photos, and videos through technological devices, and it can be placed on a continuum from safer to riskier behavior. This study aims to improve our knowledge about sexting behaviors in Italian and Colombian young adults before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
